    Aromatherapy massage is a holistic therapy, treating the mind, body and spirit by using essential oils extracted from plants to massage the body, thus combining the beneficial effects of the oils with the power of touch.\u00a0 In aromatherapy treatments essential oils are applied externally, but their penetrative power is so great that they can act on the internal organs.In aromatherapy massage, specific essential oils are chosen to suit the condition and temperament of the client and blended with carrier oil, which is then applied to the body using various techniques. The complete treatment lasts an hour.<\/p>

    Essential oils isolated from plants have been used therapeutically for many centuries. Their medicinal use is recorded as early as 4500 BC, by Greeks, Romans and Egyptians. They are highly volatile, odorous oils extracted from a wide variety of plants from all over the world.\u00a0 They are found in all parts of the plant, including leaves, flowers, fruits, twigs, roots, bark wood and resins.\u00a0 Most of these oils have antiseptic properties; some are antiviral, others anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, antidepressant or expectorant.<\/p>

    The main and immediate effect of aromatherapy massage is relaxation. The combination of traditional Swedish massage techniques and specific essential oils also help to release stress, tension and energy blockages in the body, which interfere with its well-being.<\/p>
