Further Information
Tibetan head massage is a unique therapy which draws on the ancient wisdom and philosophies of Tibetan Ayurveda. The therapy is performed with the client fully clothed in a reclining or lying position and involves massage of the scalp, face, neck, throat, shoulders and upper arms and also includes acupressure.
The acupressure points used in this treatment are unique to Tibetan medicine and differ from the better known Chinese meridian or Indian Ayurvedic marma systems.
The aim of the treatment is to make a positive change in the recipient’s energy system with specialised massage techniques to bring about balance and harmony and to support the body’s natural ability to heal its self. In addition, the therapy relieves minor headaches, improves hair condition to the scalp, aids lymphatic drainage, insomnia, and is particularly effective of countering the effects of stress.
